www.djsounds.com After our previous coverage of Belgium’s Tomorrowland festival with Josh Wink and DJ Sneak, we now hook up with old favourite, golden boy, James Zabiela. In this brief chat he lets rip about all things 2000, including the brand new DJM-2000 and the CDJ-2000s. Hear how he now organises his music and utilises the incredible functionality and connectivity of the DJM-2000. He explains how he can connect up to four CDJs into the DJM-2000 so that no additional hub is needed and also plug his laptop straight in via USB to use Ableton, not forgetting the touch screen to control midi functions. James was originally involved this time last year with the seminal Dawn of a New Species campaign that launched the CDJ-2000s, which you can watch here on DJsounds. DJ pioneer

I did not do this remix. This was done by a pioneer Dj back in the late 1970’s.This was done with no computer bullshit. It was done using a machine called a ”REEL TO REEL”.The machine was a recorder that used a film similar to a video projector on 8 mm two wheels turned as the machine worked. The film had to be cut and spliced to perfection taking bits and pieces of whatever song or sound was going to be mixed in to then make the master on an ”ACETATE” record. That took tremendous talent to achieve. This is a rare ”DISCO MIXER”. called ”HOLLYWOOD PART 1”This was used by most of the DJS from clubs and the radio industry back in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s.If you are from that era you must remember hearing this in mixes on the radio and even in your favorite NightClub.I brought this back, recording it directly from my old vinyl copy.Enjoy. www.djsounds.com In another of our clips from Tomorrowland, Antwerp, we caught up with the legendary DJ Sneak who was full of praise for Belgium and its variety of music and non-cheesy festivals. Sneak told us about his migration to CDs from vinyl and that he likes to make them pretty with his colourful graffiti so they’re distinctive. Each one is a work of art. He also talked about his visit to Pacha Ibiza where he had a tour of the CDJ-2000s and DJM-2000 at our very own Pioneer lab on the terrace. DJ Sneak is originally from Puerto Rico and has seen fashions come and go but always remained true to himself with his own unique sound, which is probably why he’s so well loved across the globe. We were lucky enough to have DJ Sneak on our DJsounds Show, broadcast from Ibiza Sonica FM earlier in the summer. You can watch the clip at www.djsounds.com . DJ pioneer
